Longwing brogues, also known as 'American' brogues, are characterised by wings that extend the full length of the shoe, meeting at a centre seam at the heel. Tricker's have reintroduced this style using a C.F Stead waxy suede, with brass eyelets, cream Barbour welt and British-made Dainite sole to give a more casual feel to the shoe.
C.F. Stead waxy suede is a traditional heavy-weight “Hunting Suede” or reverse suede. It offers a characteristic rough, casual suede with a completely natural full grain on the reverse, which is provided oiled and waxed to provide a high level of weather proofing. This offers comfort and durability, and the waxed suede can be readily brushed and re-waxed to restore the original look after heavy wear.
The Simon Derby ankle boot is instantly identifiable by its brogue detailing, a hallmark of Tricker's. Its sturdy construction and seven eyelets also contribute to its distinctive appearance, achieving recognition without being ostentatious.
To ensure a watertight fit, a half bellows tongue is folded and secured to the boot, while the storm welt creates an additional waterproof barrier between the upper and the sole.
